SPIRES for Homeless and Disadvantaged People

July, I created a series of sound documentary’s as a community project for the SPIRES centre. SPIRES is a centre for homeless and disadvantaged people in Stretham that aims to support less fortunate people and help them off the street.

I worked with Naomi Billington, Jonny Dowling, Jude Hodgson Hann and Toni-Leigh Plummer, guided by sound editor Phil Freudenfeld.

We spent a period of five weeks on the project; researching, planning, recording, editing and evaluating the project. Whilst doing the project I learnt how to record audio using a Zoom H1, work with people in difficult situations and edit audio using AVID Pro Tool’s.

We edited the audio into six separate tracks organized into categories
